Basketball Women's

About 

The Basketball Club consists of the Male and Female 1st team and a Men’s LUSL team. Being part of the Basketball team brings together the competitive spirit with the life of a student at City. It is a great way to share the passion and commitment for basketball and enjoy life at University. 

Basketball is not only about our competitive teams, everyone is welcome to play basketball in the social basketball sessions (CityActive Programme) which will take place in a dedicated time slot every week at?City Sport! You are not required to play competitively or enter try outs - just come along to CitySport, by yourself or with friends, and join in with everyone else there.

How to get involved 

To represent City in your chosen sport you must first sign up to and attend a trial or open practice. You can do this in a number of ways: 

• Come along to the Welcome Fair on Monday 25th September at The Business Design Centre Islington, N1 0QH from 10:00-17:00 and speak to the team captain. 

• Visit the Sports Fair on Tuesday 26th September at CitySport, 122 Goswell Road, London, EC1V 7DP from 11:00-16:00. 

• Attend the Society and Sport in The Square event on Friday 29th September outside the Main entrance at Northampton Square, EC1V 0HB from 11:00-14:00 

• Email sports@city.ac.uk

Selected Team Members 

Once selected for a team you must purchase a representational team membership for the 2023/24 season – This will allow you to train and compete for your chosen team.  

Membership costs £50 for the academic year – You are not required to purchase more than one membership if representing more than one team. 

Additional memberships required to compete for this team 

All players must also purchase a Basketball England membership with?https://membership.basketballengland.co.uk/?  

Equipment needed* 

• Non-Marking shoes (Essential)  

• Suitable sporting clothing 

• Water bottle (Refill sites at venue)  

*If selected for team, representational team kit will be loaned to you for the 2023/24 season
